Eric Lemoine spent 6 years training in Muay Thai, Kickboxing and Kung Fu from the age of 16. In 2000, at the age of 22, he moved to Sydney in order to enhance his martial arts training. It was in Sydney where he first discovered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and began training with Paulo in Neutral Bay (at Brad Paterson’s gym – who is now a black belt under Prof Paulo).
In 2005, Eric joined the Australian Army and has deployed overseas on operations. He has gained several qualifications and is now a Military Self Defence Instructor. He now passes on his knowledge of BJJ and the Roots philosophy of respect, honour, loyality and family, which he believes has helped him in achieving a successful career within the Australian Defence Force.
Eric lives in Townsville QLD, where he teaches both the techniques and principles which together make Roots the champion team it is today.
