ROOTS at the CBJJE Asian Cup

Monday, January 11, 2010

Roots Bondi Junction Head Instructor Daniel Sainty and students Dave Brooksbank and Tim O’Kane have just returned from a successful tour of Japan with Daniel and Dave both winning Gold at the CBJJE Asian Cup. Despite injuring his foot severely at training, Daniel won a Silver medal just two weeks later at the Damau Cup.

The guys spent just under four weeks visiting several dojos around Tokyo training everyday and learning the latest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques. The Australian team were well received by the Japanese and were invited to teach classes as well as train with some high profile fighters.

Daniel, Dave and Tim have brought their valuable experience and new techniques back to the Bondi Junction dojo where the other students are sure to benefit. Daniel is planning another visit soon to ensure his students all get the opportunity to experience international competition and to maintain the high standard of instruction at Roots Bondi Junction.
