I competed in my first BJJ competition that year, and Jiu Jitsu has been a big part of my life ever since.
I went from training casually to almost obsessively, becoming more inspired and enthusiastic as I watched the results speak for themselves. My confidence increased, I felt fitter than ever before, I lost weight and looked great, and started making great progress at the competitions. I trained up to go to the World Championships in Brazil in 2007. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I have also travelled and trained overseas and seen a love for the sport that stretches across the world. I am so thankful to have been a part of it and this is exactly what we have at ROOTS in Australia.
There is always going to be a new move to learn. You can never have too much mat time, and you will make friendships out of team mates that will last a lifetime.
My dream is to have a see a class with even amounts of men and women. To have more women compete and show that we are just as skilled and technical as the men.
That’s why I am now teaching a class for women only at ROOTS CBD gym.
Come and have the experience of your life!
